We were invited to camp at Calf Creek Falls with some nieces and nephews this weekend. It was awesome! Great camping, pleasant hike, beautiful (cold) waterfall, and monstrous thunderstorm-flash flood!
Luckily we were back in the parking lot by the time the monsoon hit- but it literally was dumping rain in sheets while we ran around and played in it. :) And the thunder was amazing- it was super loud, and echoed through the hundreds of slot canyons in the area and rumbled way longer than any thunder I'd ever heard. And then we saw waterfalls forming along all the top cliff lines, water gushing into canyons below. Then a new layer of waterfall would form half way down the cliffs, muddy and red, still gushing wildly toward the ground. After a few of these layers, the violent flood finally the flood made it to our level in the parking lot and zoomed straight for us- then was routed away and down along the side of the road. (Thank you, civil engineering!)
Now THAT was cool!

More goofing off:
We spotted this fat mermaid on the beach:
Todd professes his love for m and the cat:
Todd's Picassoesque- earth art: those eyelashes are definitely Hammond eyelashes!
These Hammond cousins are all best friends- and they have so much fun together!
The hike was beautiful and perfect temperature in the morning. But very hot on the way out.
While camping I got Todd to pose with me for a romantic shot:
know I have a lot of star photos, but I just can't get enough of these babies. They're so fun to take!
We took some light graffiti pics as well:
